You know, billionaire investor, Bridgewater Associates, worth about $15 billion, and really an astute observer of global affairs.
He just posted a video on LinkedIn talking about what to expect from the Trump administration.
I think he gets it mostly right.
Basically, what he says is, the people of the United States have spoken and want a different relationship with our government – they’re saying we don’t like all this “woke” stuff, and we want to create a different type of relationship where we deregulate, widen opportunities, lower taxes, etc.
What he says is, the second thing the Trump administration is doing is preparing for war – his words.
Remember something – Chinese President Xi Jinping has told his generals to be ready to invade Taiwan by 2027. And he has started to recruit soldiers around his country.
They are flying planes over Taiwan every day, testing their air defense systems.
Remember – Taiwan makes 90% of all the advanced semiconductors that we use for our phones, computers, cars – the chips that make our F-35s fly – I mean, 90% of them.
So basically, if China took Taiwan, that would be like cutting us off from oil.
These chips are foundational – you can’t let that happen.
Imagine if China took Taiwan – China would begin sending the advanced semiconductors to its companies and block anyone who didn’t pay tribute to it or accept its fait accompli.
So that’s just not an option for us – it’s a national security issue.
We can see by the way Trump is making his moves that we’re focused on outgrowing the debt problem on one hand, by reducing our spending and encouraging growth by deregulation…
And on the other hand, we are preparing for war.
We’re seeing these “fourth generation of warfare” people really take significant positions within this new Trump administration.
So that we can bring our military into the 21st Century.
“The Buck Stops Here,”
P.S. In other news, today is Black Friday. My team asked me if we could do something really special for Diary readers to honor this other American tradition.
Let me know what you think.
