I was raised by a single mom who worked her way up from night school to an executive role, and I learned my work ethic from her. This week, the Fed minutes hinted at something we don’t like hearing—stagflation. It’s not the same as what we saw in the late ‘70s and early ‘80s, but we’re seeing stagnant growth with inflation creeping up. And the Fed is bringing back the idea of “transitory inflation,” thanks in part to Trump’s economic policies, including tariffs, which are making everything more expensive. The real shocker? A report found that nearly 60% of corporate earnings from 2022 to Q3 2024 came from public sector spending. With the government now trying to cut spending and reduce its footprint, we’re looking at slower growth, potential job losses, and a transition period for the economy. It’s not going to be pretty, but as always, we have to play the ball where it lies.
