It’s Tuesday, July 1st — and as we get ready to celebrate our nation’s 250th birthday, I want to talk about something I believe is just as important: peace through strength. Today’s video dives into how President Trump’s evolving trade deal with Europe is fueling a new supercycle in global military spending—and why that matters for investors. European Council President António Costa recently confirmed that Europe’s ramped-up defense budgets will include buying U.S. arms, pushing Trump’s trade deal forward. A lot of people didn’t understand why Trump pressured NATO countries to spend more on defense—but the strategy is now crystal clear. Europe is rearming, and U.S. defense companies are set to be the biggest winners. More demand, more scale, more leverage in our global competition with China. The numbers are striking. Poland already spends 4% of GDP on defense. Estonia, Latvia, Greece, Lithuania—each above or near 3%.
