Good morning Reader,
Yesterday I had lunch with a college kid.
Now, America used to have the finest universities on the planet.
But speaking with this young person gave me a chance to hear firsthand the woke nonsense being fed to this generation.
He started off by telling me why we should give socialism a shot.
I had to stop him – “Don’t you understand socialism means the STATE owns the means of production? Which means the people who run that state own the means of production.”
And when a small number of people own the entire means of production, power is owned by a small group of people.
This never ends well.
Never in history has that small number of people made better decisions for the whole than a large number of people.
Socialism and communism violate human nature.
Business is war for money – that’s how I see it. It used to be that if a village nearby had a resource yours needed, you attacked that village.
With capitalism you go out and compete. Capitalism really honors human nature. A free, competitive market honors the best of our potential.
But we don’t have to teach kids about capitalism anymore.
Since the end of the Cold War, we’ve had no major threat to unite us against a common enemy.
We’ve become lazy – fat, dumb and happy.
And we’ve turned to fighting each other.
But you know who’s not complacent?
China.

China doesn’t want to be No. 2. They want to be No. 1.
And seeing kids in Che Guevara t-shirts – while our military is short 40,000 troops for the first time in history – feels dangerous.
See, the Roman Empire didn’t collapse because of its enemies…
It collapsed because Romans stopped believing in it. They stopped believing it was a force for good in the world. And when they stopped believing, they didn’t want to fight to defend it.
The same thing is happening here.
Like Rome, we have an entire generation of kids who no longer believe.
And it’s happening right as we face a resurgent China and Russia.
I walked away from that lunch thinking that we’re in the first innings of what will likely be a long battle for the soul of this country.
But I’m ready to fight for it because I’m a believer.
On a related note…
I told another young man recently that last year, China launched an attack against the heart of the U.S. financial system.
I patiently explained how this attack could quite literally send his grandparents into poverty.
At the time, he scoffed at me. But then he watched this video and texted me saying he’d like to know more.
My first thought was, “Thank the good Lord! All hope is not lost.”
My second thought was, “One down. Ten million more to go.”
