On March 16, we asked that you keep an eye on D-Wave Quantum (SYM: QBTS).
At the time, we noted, “After finding strong support at $4.50, QBTS is just starting to pivot higher. Last trading at $6.91 we’d like to see it rally back to $11 initially.”
We added that the company just “announced a scientific breakthrough published in the esteemed journal Science, confirming that its annealing quantum computer outperformed one of the world’s most powerful classical supercomputers in solving complex magnetic materials simulation problems with relevance to materials discovery.”
At the time, QBTS traded at $6.91.
Today, D-Wave Quantum is Up to $13.15 a Share
On Monday this week, QBTS closed at $13.15 and could push even higher. All thanks to its newest computing system – Advantage2.
As noted in a company press release:
Today marks a significant milestone not just for D-Wave, but for the quantum computing industry as a whole, as we bring to market our sixth-generation quantum computer, a system so powerful that it can solve hard problems outside the reach of one of the world’s largest exascale GPU-based classical supercomputers,” said Dr. Alan Baratz, CEO of D-Wave.
“It’s an engineering marvel, with substantial technical advancements that highlight D-Wave’s progress in scaling quantum technology to meet industry demands for growing computational processing power while maintaining energy efficiency. We’re helping customers realize value from quantum computing right now, and the Advantage2 system represents a remarkable achievement in delivering on that mission.”
Earnings Haven’t Been Too Shabby Either
Earlier this month, QBTS posted an EPS loss of two cents, which beat estimates by three cents. Revenue of $15 million, up 507.3% year over year, beat by $4.5 million.
“The first quarter of 2025 was arguably the most significant in D-Wave’s history, especially in terms of our unique ability to deliver quantum value today to our customers and the scientific community,” added CEO Baratz.
P.S. Chart of Day: Pony.AI (SYM: PONY)
Shares of artificial intelligence stock, Pony.AI (PONY) have been explosive.
In fact, since bottoming out at around $4, it’s now up to $14.32, where we still like the stock. Helping, the company is partnering with Uber Technologies to deploy its technology in Middle East autonomous robotaxis. It also announced it will roll out to additional global autonomous robotaxi markets in the future.
PONY also operates in select Chinese cities, and is exploring markets in South Korea, Luxembourg and Hong Kong. Plus, it announced another partnership with Chinese tech firm, Tencent, which helped boost the PONY stock even more.
That Tencent deal, which will include cloud services, map data, information security and intelligent cockpit ecosystems, will see Pony. AI’s robotaxi ride-hailing services integrated into Tencent’s WeChat app as well as other applications like Tencent Maps.
From its current price of $16.91, we’d like to see the PONY stock race back to $23.88 initially.
With gains like these from D-Wave and Pony.AI, it’s clear we’re entering a new era of tech-driven disruption — and opportunity. But what if you could consistently spot these breakout stocks before they make their big moves?
