High-Yield Dividend Stocks That Could Benefit from Russia-Ukraine Ceasefire

There’s been significant tension between Russia and the Ukraine.

But it may be close to an end, with Ukrainian President Zelensky saying he could give up his presidency for peace and potential NATO membership. In fact, should we see peace in the region, analysts at Jefferies say it could be a tailwind for many of Europe’s top companies.

That could include high-yielding European stocks such as:

    BASF (SYM: BASFY)

With a yield of 7.13%, BASF (BASFY) is a European multinational company and the largest chemical producer in the world. Analysts at Citi also raised their price target on BASFY to EUR 51 from EUR 46. Analysts at Berenberg also raised their price target from EUR 50 to EUR 52.

    TotalEnergies (SYM: TTE)

With a yield of 5.8%, TotalEnergies (TTE) is another attractive high-yielding European integrated oil and gas company. It operates in four segments, including exploration and production, integrated gas, renewables and power, and refining and chemicals.

In addition, as noted by Seeking Alpha, “CEO Patrick Pouyanné highlighted that TotalEnergies delivered ‘solid results’ in 2024, generating $29.9 billion in cash flow from operations despite a softer price environment. He emphasized the company's balanced strategy across oil, gas, and integrated power, with notable achievements in production and reserve replacement.”

    BP (SYM: BP)

With a yield of 5.54%, BP (BP) is a British multinational oil and gas company – and could also benefit from a Russia-Ukraine ceasefire. Helping, analysts at JPMorgan just raised its price target on the BP stock to 510p from 440p. The analysts cited BP’s Rosneft option value and its limited exposure to EU/UK gas markets.

JPMorgan also says BP is uniquely positioned to benefit from a ceasefire in the Russia-Ukraine conflict. “Risked at 50% of pre-Russia/Ukraine BV, this still equates to a leading 10% of BP’s market cap (as high as 20% un-risked). We believe this makes BP a prime ceasefire beneficiary for the second-order ‘silver bullet’ this implies for deleveraging.”
