These 3 Biotech Stocks Could Be the Next Ozempic - 10/23

Three of the Top Obesity Stocks to Buy and Hold Today

The fight against obesity isn’t just transforming lives — it’s reshaping the stock market.

As weight-loss drugs like Ozempic and Wegovy continue to dominate headlines, investors are scrambling to identify the next wave of biotech companies poised to benefit from this multi-billion-dollar opportunity. And while giants like Eli Lilly and Novo Nordisk have stolen the spotlight, a new group of smaller-cap players could deliver far greater upside potential.

We’ve been pounding the table on obesity drug stocks for some time — and the story keeps getting better. While we often highlight names like Viking Therapeutics (SYM: VKTX) and Structure Therapeutics (SYM: GPCR), there’s another up-and-coming player investors should have on their radar: BioAge Labs (SYM: BIOA).

With obesity rates still climbing globally, the market potential is staggering. According to the World Obesity Federation, more than half the global population will be overweight or obese by 2035. Analysts estimate that the global obesity drug market could surpass $150 billion annually within the next decade. And as new clinical data continues to pour in, several emerging biotech names are looking increasingly compelling.

    Company: BioAge Labs (SYM: BIOA)
    A Small-Cap with Big Potential

BioAge Labs may not be a household name yet, but analysts are taking notice. Citi recently upgraded the stock to a Buy with a $10 price target, citing a wave of near-term catalysts.

    The firm noted:

“Given guidance for multiple obesity product and third-party data readouts over the next 12–15 months, we believe it’s appropriate to upgrade BIOA. We see the upcoming clinical data from both BioAge and competitors as potential stock-moving catalysts.”

One reason for optimism: BioAge’s lead candidate BGE-102, a potentially differentiated NLRP3 inhibitor, could stand out in the crowded obesity drug landscape. Analysts believe it may serve as a combo therapy with oral GLP-1s or even as a monotherapy, broadening its commercial appeal.

In a space where competition is fierce and results matter, BioAge’s novel mechanism of action could give it an edge — and early investors may be rewarded if the upcoming trial data delivers as expected.

    Company: Viking Therapeutics (SYM: VKTX)
Still the Undervalued Star of the Space

Viking Therapeutics (SYM: VKTX) has already been one of the most exciting names in the obesity drug race — and it could still be early.

The company recently launched its VANQUISH Phase 3 program for VK2735, a dual agonist targeting the GLP-1 and GIP receptors — the same biological pathways targeted by blockbuster drugs like Mounjaro and Wegovy. Both subcutaneous and oral formulations are in development, giving Viking multiple paths to success.

    CEO Brian Lian recently commented:

“Along with the successful initiation of the Phase 3 program, we continue to make progress on VK2735's broader development. This includes plans to initiate an additional clinical study to evaluate a monthly maintenance regimen, expected to begin later this year.”

That’s a big deal — because if the monthly dosing regimen performs well, it could provide a more convenient option for patients and differentiate Viking’s therapy from existing treatments.

Beyond that, there’s persistent speculation about a potential acquisition. Pfizer CEO Albert Bourla has publicly stated the company is looking to expand its pipeline with obesity-related assets. Given Viking’s strong clinical results and market positioning, it wouldn’t be shocking if Pfizer — or another large pharma player — eventually made a move.

With shares currently trading around $31, analysts see room for significant upside if upcoming data and partnership developments unfold positively.

Bitcoin Just Dropped From $126K - Here's Why I'm Excited

Bitcoin has pulled back from its $126K all-time high...

And I couldn't be more excited.

    Here's why:

Crypto analyst Michaël van de Poppe just confirmed what smart money already knows—August historically brings corrections that create the BEST buying opportunities of the year.

While everyone's panicking about the pullback, institutional players are quietly accumulating.

Just this week, Metaplanet bought 518 BTC worth $61 million during the dip.

They know something most people don't.

This isn't a crash—it's a healthy correction before the next explosive move. Bitcoin ETFs are still buying 6X more than miners can produce, creating a massive supply shock building underneath.

The smart money is positioning for what could be the biggest wealth transfer in history. And right now, you can copy their exact strategy.

I've just released the Buy the Dip Blueprint—showing you how elite investors turn corrections like this into life-changing gains.

    Company: Structure Therapeutics (SYM: GPCR)
    Building Momentum with Strong Data

Another emerging name to watch is Structure Therapeutics (SYM: GPCR), which is gaining traction after reporting positive Phase 2a data for its lead obesity drug GSBR-1290.

According to the company, GSBR-1290 demonstrated a clinically meaningful and statistically significant mean weight loss of 6.2% at just 12 weeks, compared to placebo. For early-stage results, that’s impressive — and enough to catch Wall Street’s attention.

The company now plans to initiate a 36-week Phase 2b study later this year, which could serve as a key inflection point for the stock. If the next stage of data confirms the early promise, GPCR could rapidly re-rate higher as investors price in the potential for a much larger commercial opportunity.

Citi recently initiated coverage with a Buy rating and a $60 price target, noting that partnership interest is likely to grow following additional data readouts.

“We anticipate partnership interest in Structure’s oral pipeline, potentially following Ph2b aleniglipron data,” Citi added.

That’s critical — because in this space, partnership deals often lead to immediate stock gains. Major pharma companies with obesity ambitions are on the hunt for promising oral drug candidates, and GPCR’s progress could make it a highly attractive target.

    The Bottom Line

The obesity drug boom shows no signs of slowing — and while the headlines often center on the mega-cap leaders, the next generation of innovators could be where the biggest profits lie.

    • BioAge Labs (SYM: BIOA) is an early-stage player with unique science and near-term data catalysts.

    • Viking Therapeutics (SYM: VKTX) continues to make clinical progress and could be an acquisition target.

    • Structure Therapeutics (SYM: GPCR) is building on strong clinical data with a promising oral obesity drug.

Together, these three names represent a diversified way to play the obesity revolution — one of the most powerful and lucrative trends in modern medicine.

Investors willing to buy and hold through the volatility could be positioning themselves ahead of the next major wave of biotech growth.
