3 Ways to Invest in America’s Nuclear Stockpile Plan - 9/18

The U.S. Wants to Stockpile Uranium… Here’s How to Trade It

Nuclear energy has re-emerged as one of the most important pieces of the global energy puzzle. For decades, it was overshadowed by oil, gas, and the more recent boom in renewables like wind and solar. But today, with governments prioritizing clean, reliable, and large-scale energy solutions, nuclear is back in focus — and uranium is at the center of the story.

The U.S. government is now taking concrete steps to strengthen its uranium reserves. According to U.S. Secretary of Energy Chris Wright, the goal is to build a buffer of uranium supply that can grow alongside rising demand. “We hope to see rapid growth in uranium consumption in the U.S. from both large reactors and small modular reactors. The size of that right buffer would grow with time. We need a lot of domestic uranium and enrichment capacity,” he said.

This push follows President Donald Trump’s ambitious target — quadrupling U.S. nuclear power capacity by 2050, according to analysts at BMO Capital Markets. If the U.S. is serious about meeting this goal, uranium demand is set to soar in the years ahead.

And it’s not just about energy independence. Nuclear power is increasingly viewed as a solution to power-hungry data centers and the massive growth of artificial intelligence (AI) infrastructure. Both require enormous amounts of stable, round-the-clock energy. Nuclear offers exactly that — carbon-free baseload power.

For investors, this backdrop presents a significant opportunity. Uranium and nuclear-related stocks have already been trending higher, and the U.S. stockpile news provides another catalyst. Here are three uranium investments that still look attractive.

    Company: NexGen Energy (SYM: NXE)

NexGen Energy is a pure-play uranium exploration and development company focused on the Athabasca Basin in Canada — home to some of the richest uranium deposits in the world. Its Rook I project, which includes the Arrow and South Arrow discoveries, is considered one of the most promising uranium projects globally.

On September 12, NXE traded around $7.80. Since then, it’s climbed modestly to $8.20. That may not sound like much, but for investors familiar with uranium cycles, small early gains often precede much larger moves as demand builds.

The company’s long-term story rests on its ability to bring world-class uranium assets into production. With the U.S. looking to secure future uranium supply, companies like NexGen — with proven high-grade resources — are likely to remain in focus.

    Company: Cameco (SYM: CCJ)

If NexGen represents the future, Cameco represents the present. As one of the world’s largest uranium producers, Cameco is already benefiting from the renewed global interest in nuclear energy.

The stock has been on a tear in 2024 and 2025. After bottoming near $37 in April, it has since surged to $81.40 on the back of uranium stockpiling headlines.

Wall Street has also taken notice. Bank of America and BMO Capital recently raised their price targets, and analysts at CLSA initiated coverage with an outperform rating and a $102 price target. That implies more than 25% upside from current levels.

Cameco’s strength lies in its established operations, reliable production, and global relationships with utilities. For investors seeking stability and scale in the uranium trade, CCJ is one of the strongest names in the space.

    Mode Mobile

ORACLE’S 40% POP SIGNALS BIGGER PLAY

Oracle’s 40% AI-cloud spike proves data is still the most valuable asset on the planet after co-founder Larry Ellison surpassed Elon Musk to become the richest man in the world with his shares.

Which means the next move might just be Mode Mobile, the company that pays people to use their phones.  Mode collects first-party data by turning screen time into income for users.

Mode Mobile has already helped users earn and save $325M+, and achieved a staggering 32,481% revenue growth over three years. It was named Deloitte’s #1 fastest-growing software company in North America and has raised over $52M to date. However, space in their current round is limited to just $5M.

Their last raise at $0.30/share was oversubscribed, and they now count more than 55,000 investors. With Nasdaq ticker $MODE secured, you can still get in before the window closes.

ETF: Global X Uranium ETF (SYM: URA)

For those who don’t want to pick individual stocks, the Global X Uranium ETF (SYM: URA) provides broad exposure to the uranium sector. With an expense ratio of 0.69%, it holds about 50 uranium-related companies across mining, exploration, refining, and nuclear component manufacturing.

That makes URA an efficient way to diversify across the industry while still benefiting from the uranium story.

Like many uranium assets, URA has been rallying. On September 12, it traded around $42. It has since climbed to about $44.15. While that may seem like a small move, remember that ETFs typically move slower than individual stocks. Its long-term trend, however, points higher as uranium demand strengthens.

    Why Uranium Now?

For decades, uranium demand has moved in cycles — soaring during times of nuclear expansion, and collapsing after events like Fukushima. But the dynamics today are different.

    1. Decarbonization push – Governments around the world are committed to reducing carbon emissions. Nuclear is one of the few reliable clean energy sources.

    2. Energy security – Geopolitical tensions have highlighted the risks of relying on foreign oil and gas. Domestic uranium production offers independence.

    3. AI and data center demand – Artificial intelligence requires enormous computing power, and thus electricity. Nuclear is one of the only ways to meet this demand sustainably.

    4. Government backing – With the U.S. explicitly announcing plans to stockpile uranium, policy tailwinds are finally aligning with market demand.

This combination of factors suggests uranium’s rally isn’t just another short-term spike — it could be the beginning of a multi-year growth cycle.
